Visit from the Cousins

This past week we had a wonderful visit from the Ragsdales! Aunt Denise, Logan, Jake, and Emma arrived on Monday and spent the whole week with us...we had a blast! Tuesday we went to the Georgia Aquarium. Dalton has been there twice before but this year he was definitely more into it than before. It's pretty amazing what the power of reading will do...he has several books about ocean life that we read at night and because of that he was actually able to recognize several of the fish and animals there...I'm pretty sure I would not have been able to spot a Manta Ray at age 3! We had a great time there and also got to go see the Dolphin show, which was incredible. I have never been to Sea World before but I would imagine that the show was similar to some of their shows. I think next time I go back to school it will be to be a dolphin trainer-ha!

Thursday we went up to Amicalola Falls State Park and went hiking.
We have never been there before but it was definitely worth the drive. The falls are gorgeous. Little Anna was a trooper and had her first ride in the Baby Bjorn (thanks Aunt Kristen!). Dalton also hiked the whole time without being carried and informed me that since he could sit up on the big rocks that he was a teenager now...haha! The hike was a great reminder to me how out of shape I am. I thought I might keel over into the side of the mountain trying to get out of there!

Friday we hung out around here and went to Yogli Mogli for our weekly treat of frozen yogurt with toppings...Dalton's fave treat. Zack had been out of town for work so he also got home Friday night and it was so nice to have him back. Yesterday we mostly hung out around here but Anna and I snuck out for a couple of hours for a little trip to Stein Mart. I am so excited to have a little girl to go shopping with. :)
Today....Zack is going to keep Anna for a couple of hours this afternoon and I'm taking Dalton to go see Winnie the Pooh. I have been wanting to take him since it came out and I'm super excited to spend some time with my little man. I try to make things as fair as I can with my time but let's face it, Anna gets most of it these days because she is nursing. Which I love and wouldn't change for the world, but I think these little outings with just he and I are very important.
Let me end this post with a little unsolicited advice...has anyone seen the movie Country Strong yet? I love my girl Gwyneth but let me tell you if you haven't seen this yet please don't waste your time. We got takeout last night and I was so excited for Zack and I to watch this together after the kiddos went to sleep. Without giving anything away, Zack summed it up the best when he said, "the plot has holes in it big enough for me to drive my truck through." Bahahahahaha....

Summertime fun

YAY! Zack and Dalton returned home last Wednesday night...Anna and I were so happy to have our boys back! We spent Thursday at home...Dalton kept asking me, "why aren't we running errands Mommy?" Poor thing...he is used to being on the go! However, he did seem to have a great time playing with his water ball in the back yard and eating a popsicle. This weekend Anna and I made the trip to Newnan to hang out with Brooke. We so enjoyed our girls weekend...we arrived in the morning on Saturday and went to Redneck Gourmet for a yummy lunch followed by some shopping in the downtown stores. We also went to a few antique shops in search of some Pinterest inspired crafting but weren't able to find exactly what we were looking for (don't ask us what that was...by the way...lol!) When the Saturday afternoon storms started, we headed to Blockbuster and rented some fun chick flicks. I can't remember the last time I rented and watched 2 movies in one day! Unfortunately, we weren't able to get more than a couple of pics since it was only the 3 of us this weekend. Thanks for a fun day Aunt Brooke!
Sunday, we headed home for a quiet day with Zack and Dalton and had a cookout Sunday night...Zack made the best burgers on the grill and I tried a new potato salad from Cooking Light...pretty yummy!
This morning we ventured out to Monkey Joe's. I can't believe that place is so close and we have never taken Buddy there before. We met our friends Lori and Caroline (or "Little Caroline" and "Little Caroline's Mommy," as Dalton refers to them) for some fun. Dalton had an absolute blast. He and Caroline chased each other all around the place and were just thrilled with all the bouncy houses. Anna was also able to get in a good snooze while we were there! She is such a precious baby and I am enjoying her so much. She is so good and sooo sweet. I am truly thankful to be blessed with such happy, healthy, and sweet children.

Welcome!

Hi there! If you are reading this now, you have found your way to our family blog! After debating for months and trying to find the time, I am jumping head first into blogging. With our latest arrival, it seemed like the perfect time to start recording some of our adventures as a family. With most of our family living out of state, I am hoping that this blog will be a good way for us to not only journal our own experiences but for our (extended) families to keep up with what is going on with us. :)
These days, I am home enjoying my maternity leave and taking care of baby Anna, our newest family member, and of course big brother Dalton. Zack is working hard but taking a few much needed breaks here and there...for instance, right now he is at the beach with Dalton and his family! More to come in our next post...my "girl" time with Anna and of course pics of Zack and Dalton at Ocean Isle!
