Pumpkin Patch 2012

Saturday afternoon we headed to Washington Farms for our annual pumpkin patch family outing!  It was a beautiful day with crisp fall weather.  We went to Washington Farms 3 years ago and it had really changed.  It has grown and had tons of fun activities for the kids to do.  Here they are posing by the welcome sign.  See the pumpkin patch in the background?  That's the reason why I really love this place-you actually get to pick your pumpkin right off the vine!
 Hay ride...
Hi Dad!!

Riding the slide on one of the many playgrounds at the farm...

Fun spin on the traditional corn maze... a "hay maze"

Anna kept breaking the rules and climbing OVER the hay bales!!

Sweet little face....she loved the farm animals!  Don't mind that little scratch on her nose...she had an accident at school this week.  :(

"Been farmin' long?"

Dalton jumping on the giant pillow!

Wheeeee!!!

Anna and Daddy riding a tricycle around the corn field.  That was quite the sight to behold!!  Haha!

Mommy, Dalton, and Anna riding the cow train!

Me:  "Anna, what does the cow say?"
Anna: "MOOO!!"
:)
I think this is the one!

Anna likes this one best...

In the end, we got one of each...a big and a little!
More pumpkin pics to come later after carving!!
And I couldn't resist putting in a few more from today.  I was off today and we had a great day spending time together.  We started out by going for the kids check up appointments, to be followed by a trip to Target for rewards for being so good!  Dalton got some new Beyblades and Anna got a baby doll.  She is so in to baby dolls it's hilarious.  She loves to cuddle them!  Lol.
While Anna was taking her nap today Dalton and I made some ghost cookies...yummy!!
My little helper!  He loves to help in the kitchen!
After Dalton's dental appointment this afternoon we went up to the neighborhood playground and had a lot of fun playing on the slides!  Here are a couple more from after dinner....we never tire of playing with the wooden blocks and building towers!!

Good night!
Have a wonderful week!!

A Birthday (party) to remember

On October 13, we had Dalton's much anticipated 5th birthday party, held at...Monkey Joe's!   We have literally been planning this party for 6 months.  I think it was about that long ago when he told me, "Mommy, I want my birthday at Monkey Joe's and I want pizza and cake and ice cream."  So that's just what we did!  The theme was Lego (per his request).  :)
Colton on the slides

Dalton and Pete the Cat (yes, he came too, and played...for a little while!)

Lego birthday party room!

Dalton and his BFF Elliot
So why was it such a party to remember, you might ask??  Well...aside from him having lots of fun during the play time, he got SICK when the actual party started.  See the setup below?  Well, if you were there--you know what happened!  As soon as the pizza was served, he leaned over the side of his big throne and threw up.  I felt SO SORRY for that little boy!  Of course no one wants their child to be sick--but after all that on his big day!  :(

Anna and Reese having fun!

Party-goers

What a loving and supportive family!!  I love that our whole family always makes such an effort to come to all of their parties!  Thanks guys!
Birthday boy blowing out 5 big candles!  The cake was Ninjago...also per his request.  :)

Can't believe this little boy is 5 years old!

Post party he started feeling a little better.  He loved all of his gifts!  Here he is with Colton putting together a Lego firetruck.

Mimi and little sister

Peek a boo!

Fun with Grandma!
Even though he got sick I would still say the party was a success!  He did have lots of fun and we had a great turn out of lots of friends and family!  Thanks everyone and happy birthday little boy!  We love you to the moon and back!!

Happy 5th Birthday, Dalton!!

Eating an apple for snack...and sharing with Pete, of course.
On October 9, 2007 at 3:41 pm this little boy came into our lives...like a little whirlwind....and it has never been the same since!  Today, we celebrated his 5th birthday...to be extended through the weekend with a big party!
We started the day out with singing happy birthday.  He went to school and took Spiderman cupcakes!  According to Dalton, they were a big hit!  I wish I had gotten a picture...
Funny story: there was a little plastic spiderman toy on top of the cupcakes and he thought that was his birthday present!  The funny thing is that he was really happy with it!  I cherish these moments because I know they are fleeting...
Who is the blue cat in the pictures, you ask?  Why, that's Pete The Cat, his class pet in Mrs. Erica's and Mrs. Laura's class.  Each child gets to take him home the week of their birthday.  They are supposed to take Pete with them everywhere they go that week, and at the end of the week we compile pictures and write a story about all we did with Pete, which goes in his travel log that will stay with him throughout the year.  Dalton was so excited to bring Pete home today!
Birthday dinner: Chips and a taco at El Real.  Pete came long, too!
At dinner I gave our waitress a heads up that it was Dalton's birthday and they came out and surprised him by singing happy birthday after dinner and bringing him an ice cream sundae!  He was soooo shocked...I posted this picture although it isn't great but it is the only one we got.  He had a SUPER shocked look on his face the whole time they were singing.  It was so funny!  Of course he loved his ice cream sundae!
After dinner, we headed home for our family celebration.  When we opened the garage, Dalton got to see his present...a new BIKE!!!  He was THRILLED!
Daddy helping with the first takeoff...
I can do it by myself...
A little shaky but doing so well!!!...
See Mommy, I can do it!

Have you ever seen a sweeter little smile??  Pure happiness...
One happy birthday boy!  I love this little boy more than life itself!  Can't wait to continue the celebration with all our friends and family this weekend.  More  birthday pics to come!
Happy 5th birthday, little Buddy!!!

Playin' at Grandma's

This past week we spent some time in NC and Virginia while Dad had hip replacement surgery.  Mrs. Graham was kind enough to watch the children for me so that I could go and visit Dad and spend some time with him during his hospitalization.  These are a few pics that we took Friday night after eating some seafood at Captain's Galley out on the porch...
Whee!!!

Anna loved climbing up and going down the slide!

Fun with big brother

If she can do it, so can I!

Sibling love...

Before we left Saturday morning, we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and took some pics outside in the front yard.  They have a beautiful yard, perfect for fall photos!
Unfortunately, right after this shot my camera battery died and I was not able to get a single picture from baby Charlotte's first birthday party.  We all had such a blast and I SO hate that I didn't get any pics!  This is your reminder to email me some Brooke! :)
Anyway happy 1st birthday Char Char, we had a blast!
And thanks a bunch for helping me last week, Mrs. Graham!
